Chamber Music Intensive
June 19–July 16, 2017
The intensive is open to nine music majors ages 20–26. We will accept four violinists, two violists, two cellists and one pianist, forming three string quartets and one piano quintet.
The 4-week intensive will be divided into two 2-week-long sessions, each ending with a concert. Violinists, violists and cellists will be in two different groups, learning and performing a total of four works, two per session. New groups and repertoire are assigned in the beginning of the second session. The pianist will be in one group per session, learning and performing two standard piano quintets during the course of the program.
Each group will have daily hour-and-a-half coachings Monday through Friday.
Private lessons are available at the discretion of the faculty at no additional cost.
In addition to their concerts, students will participate in masterclasses and perform at Manchester Community Library, Israel Congregation and other venues.
