For the second consecutive year, Taconic Music presents ensembles from Kinhaven Music School’s Young Artist Seminar. Directed by cellist Adam Grabois, Kinhaven’s Young Artist Seminar offers players from age 18 to 28 an opportunity for intensive study of chamber works. The week-long program culminates in outreach concerts in southern Vermont, on Kinhaven’s campus in Weston and in this concert hosted by Zion Episcopal Church and presented by Taconic Music. The works to be performed are among the most colorful in the repertoire and showcase all the skill that string players and pianists can muster. Schumann’s quartet for piano and strings, Mendelssohn’s youthful and bombastic sextet for piano and strings (with double bass) and Tchaikovsky’s epic Souvenir de Florence make up a truly rich program.
Admission is $10 at the door, with all proceeds benefitting Taconic Music's educational outreach programs.
