During the school year Strings for Kids offers violin, viola and cello lessons for children ages 5–18. Each of the two semesters consists of 11 private lessons and a recital. Students will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, benefit events, and concerts at the Manchester Community Library, Equinox Terrace, and other local venues.

How to enroll new students for lessons

Taconic Junior Ensemble

Taconic Junior Ensemble is open to violin, viola, cello and double bass players, ages 7 and up, advanced beginner to intermediate level. 
Students do not need prior ensemble experience, but should have knowledge of their instrument and must be able to read music.

Each session consists of seven 1-hour long rehearsals and one performance at Zion Episcopal Church, Manchester Center, Vermont.

Program fee: $50.

Participation in Taconic Junior Ensemble is not intended to replace school or private music lessons.

Taconic Youth Sinfonietta

A new orchestra in Manchester, VT for talented young musicians up to age 19 playing violin, viola, cello, double bass, woodwinds, brass and percussion. Intermediate to advanced students can audition for the Taconic Youth Sinfonietta. Advanced beginners will be placed in the Junior Strings Ensemble, an introductory group to help learn basic ensemble skills.
